A classic effect, built for modern users - the EF-X2 couples the sounds you know and love, with features and reliability unimaginable in the past. In designing the EF-X2, the team here at Echo Fix began with the knowledge and insight gained from our work as the world's foremost experts in spare parts, servicing and repairing vintage tape echo units. Put simply, we know how tape echos should sound and operate.

We spent three years prototyping, rigorously testing, and meticulously designing in secret - while accounting for every possible application. We couldn't find a new production motor good enough so we made our own and invested in the latest high tech machinery to custom balance them in house here at Echo Fix. We could not find tape heads that sounded good enough so we had custom tape heads manufactured to our exact specs.

One of the other important things when it comes to reliable tape echo operation is the tape loop. We thoroughly researched tape and have a tape formulation that not only lasts a very long time but sounds incredible as well, that is how far we were willing to go to make the EF-X2 reliable and sound great!

What we have built is a warm sounding tape echo with a modern feature set that is at home in the professional recording studio, live guitar rig, bedroom production setup or in any other context you can dream up, we cannot wait for the EF-X2 to become an integral part of your creative process.

"During recording I am usually put off using tape echo units as I don't want to fall in love with a sound that I will not be able to replicate on tour. The EF-X2 enables me to record and tour with an amazing, consistent sound due to the quality and sturdiness of the design and construction." JOJI MALANI

Perfect.

In my studio, while surrounded by delays, the echo fix embarrasses them all. It's beautiful inside and out, built like a tank, and the echo fix team has been fantastic to work with. I'm in awe every time I switch it on.

Great update on a classic!

I always loved and had tape echos in my studio (RE-150, RE-201). As much as I love them, they can be temperamental. The EF-X2 is the perfect replacement for them, with more reliable components built by the specialist in Tape Echos! I love the new features as well like the Chorus and Digital Reverb + the extra connections. The added light to see your level/feedback is also clever. Helps you know your sweet spot.

Echo-Fix EF-X2 - Incredible Tape Delay

I was on the fence about spending this much on an effect but this thing sounds incredible - now that I have had the chance to own and play through one, the cost is a non-issue - I have played through a number of high end analog delays and several tape units but none have compared to the EF-X2 - the design, build quality, and sound are second to none - Incredible, well-built piece of high-end audio gear - Extremely happy with my purchase.

Love this product!

I’ve been loving my Tape Echo. So inspiring to use I’ve been running all sorts of recorded tracks and live instruments through it. I keep it within arms reach so I can easily tweak it.

This product is well built and sounds fantastic. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a real tape based delay.

Awesome!

I’ve owned several tape echoes over the years, including a space echo and chorus echo. I strictly use them with guitar, drum machines and synths. The Echofix is the smoothest, and easiest to dial in. I especially love the onboard chorus, which helps fill out the sound. And the reverb is very versatile, especially having the spring and digital versions available. It’s not noisy like my Re-201, and the repeats are super clean—cleaner than any tape echo I’ve used. If you want to get into tape echoes, and want a great sounding reliable unit, I would wholeheartedly recommend getting the echofix!
