A classic effect, built for modern users - the EF-X2 couples the sounds you know and love, with features and reliability unimaginable in the past. In designing the EF-X2, the team here at Echo Fix began with the knowledge and insight gained from our work as the world's foremost experts in spare parts, servicing and repairing vintage tape echo units. Put simply, we know how tape echos should sound and operate.

We spent three years prototyping, rigorously testing, and meticulously designing in secret - while accounting for every possible application. We couldn't find a new production motor good enough so we made our own and invested in the latest high tech machinery to custom balance them in house here at Echo Fix. We could not find tape heads that sounded good enough so we had custom tape heads manufactured to our exact specs.

One of the other important things when it comes to reliable tape echo operation is the tape loop. We thoroughly researched tape and have a tape formulation that not only lasts a very long time but sounds incredible as well, that is how far we were willing to go to make the EF-X2 reliable and sound great!

What we have built is a warm sounding tape echo with a modern feature set that is at home in the professional recording studio, live guitar rig, bedroom production setup or in any other context you can dream up, we cannot wait for the EF-X2 to become an integral part of your creative process.

"During recording I am usually put off using tape echo units as I don't want to fall in love with a sound that I will not be able to replicate on tour. The EF-X2 enables me to record and tour with an amazing, consistent sound due to the quality and sturdiness of the design and construction." JOJI MALANI

Truly amazing

The EF-X2 is truly amazing. Better than the Fulltone SSTE, TTE, and a newer Binson special I have played. So, the best echo or delay unit I’ve ever heard. I love how I can easily get unity volume (or more) and it is still amazingly quiet. Spring reverb is also great, better than on some amps really.

Completely awesome unit!!

Only good things to say about it! The quality is stunning, soundwise and buildwise! I am kind of a tape-delay-freak, so I was able to compare the unit with some other, older units. Though some of them sound really great, youll find the ef-x2 playing in another league regarding the sound experience. One thing to mention is: The customer service is absolutely outstanding - like: really, really outstanding! Ive hardly experienced anything better! Shane really cares about you and looks, that everything will come out to your complete satisfaction! I can highly recommend the unit and the company!

Truly a stunning achievement

I have been through a TON of delays over the years, you name it, I have probably tried it at some point and while they all work, they never quite capture the true space echo fun. When I first aw the Echo Fix on That Pedal Show, I was floored by it. What an amazing piece of work and the tone! And then I saw the price and thought ok, im not THAT into delays. :D

But, I spend all my time in bands, often dub reggae ones and we’re starting a recording project next week. So when three of them showed up Exile Music here in Vancouver last weekend, Chris (who knows all too well what a delay fiend I am…) puts out a picture of one onto facebook and that was it, I had to have it, BUDGET BE DAMNED. Brought it home, jacked it into my Logic rig and BOOM, off we go.

truly a stunning achievement, it’s the delay I have always wanted (without having to ope with a 40 year old piece of gear.
